Inferno to Peace and Serenity

Dear Colleague,

“Peace and serenity.” Those were the exact words of Jason Schechterle, a former Phoenix police officer who was horribly burned when his patrol car was rear ended and burst into flames. Jason shared his inspiring story of survival at Ringler’s recent annual meeting. As he talked about how he rebuilt his body and his life, Jason recalled the “peace and serenity” he felt knowing that the financial needs of his wife and children were covered by a structured settlement. CNN publishes a Fear & Greed Index, measuring what drives the stock market. The graphic above shows that, as of this writing, people are investing based on GREED. Only a month ago FEAR reigned supreme, and a year ago it was EXTREME FEAR.

Caveat Emptor is Latin for “buyer beware.” Is that the sentiment we should adopt when presenting offers or advising emotionally fragile people about what to do with their money? We can do better. No matter whether you’re defense or plaintiff, we encourage you to read on.
